Ashley Hwang is a junior at Jefferson and in her second year of tjTODAY. She enjoys writing about fun events and highlighting the unique aspects of Jefferson. Ashley initially joined journalism because of the impact it could have on the community at TJ and the freedom to cover stories of both interest and impact. In her free time, she dances for the Jefferson dance team as well as a studio outside of school, enjoys baking, listens to Tate McRae, and hangs out with her friends.

Even though TJ has worked to decrease the gender ratio, it still experiences low participation of female students in higher-level cs classes. “A trend that I noticed generally as I started taking these higher-level CS courses is that the ratio of boys to girls just seems to increase with the difficulty of the course,” senior Grace Huang said.
