The Colonial’s lost their first game of the season against the St. Stephens St. Agnes Saints. To senior Jeb Barker, there was more to the game than what the final score reveals, “The box score is deceiving. A 12-4 loss seems like we got dominated by the other team, but we’re one bobbled ground ball, one missed fastball, one missed throw away from winning the rest of our games,” Barker said.

Jefferson’s boys varsity baseball team lost their opening game to the St. Stephens St. Agnes Saints with a score of 4-12 on Tuesday, March 15.

Learning from their loss, the team is preparing for their next game.

“I think that we had a lot of positives from this game. Our pitching was great. We’ll win a lot of games if we can tighten up our infield, and that’s exactly what we’ll do in practice this week,” senior Jeb Barker said.

The team is hopeful for and expects a good season ahead of them.

“I have really high expectations for this year for both myself and the team. We’ve got a really good group of guys, and without a doubt the best pitching rotation in the district,” Barker said.
