The spirit bash cheerleading showcase was postponed on Oct. 6 due to a school lockdown at Alexandria City High School, where the bash was meant to take place.

The two and a half hour showcase will be rescheduled for Saturday, Oct. 9 at 10:00 a.m. Justice High School and Alexandria City High School cheer teams will showcase their routines in addition to Jefferson at the bash.

“I would encourage all of the TJ students, staff, and community to come and support cheer. It’s a big deal when any TJ sport team is included in divisions in our area school, but seen as a competitive force. I would just love it if the community rallied around them and gave them that good vibe and energy and support,” Pamela Ahn, the cheerleading coach said.

The cheer team will compete at the spirit bash showcase at Alexandria City High School on Oct. 9 at 10 a.m. and the National District Cheer Semifinals at Hayfield Secondary School on Oct. 12 at 6:30 p.m.

“[The cheer team] shines during performance time. They perform 1000% better when we’re actually at the event in front of people than in practice, and they never cease to amaze me,” Ahn said.
