Here’s more information regarding some of this morning’s annoucements:

Elementary School Tutoring: Interested in tutoring at nearby elementary schools? Come to the interest meeting on Wednesday September, 21st A OR B block to learn about all the different tutoring options and to pick up an application.

TJ Science Olympiad has an important announcement for all those interested in applying to the team this year! To apply, you must fill out a commitment form, complete the online application, and attend one of the testing sessions during 8th period.

The commitment form and application can be found on the TJHSST Science Olympiad website—easily found with a google search or at tjscio.org.

The testing sessions will be held during A block on September 21st, 23rd, 28th and 30th. Sign-ups are currently open on Ion, so make sure you get a spot soon!

In addition, we have an interest group on Facebook that you can join called TJ Science Olympiad Interest Group, where we will post updates and announcements about the process.

And finally, make sure to visit the Science Olympiad booth during the activities fair to add your email to our mailing list.


Speech and Debate: Are you interested in Speech or Student Congress, Policy, Public Forum and Lincoln Douglas Debate? Don’t know how each debate division differs from another? Come to the Lecture Hall and meet the officers either A or B Block this Wednesday. If you’re signed up for individual events already, come to the Lecture Hall instead.

PSAT Payment: Juniors: Submit your PSAT check to Student Services before Back to School Night.

Yearbook Sales: Yearbooks are officially on sale. Visit www.yearbookordercenter.com and use school code 13621 to place your order. Publications packages are $100 and include a yearbook, a literary magazine, a science magazine, and a subscription to tjTODAY. Order by December and you’ll receive a free name plate at distribution.

School Pictures: Underclass portraits for freshman, sophomores and juniors will take place in the Nobel Commons on Tuesday, September 20, and Wednesday, September 21, through math classes. Faculty and staff can take their pictures anytime over those two days.

Senior portraits will take place in the lecture hall from October 3 until October 6. Seniors will receive an appointment card in the mail and the full schedule will be posted to Facebook. If you have any questions or conflicts, please feel free to contact Ms. Harris at [email protected].
