Hensley, who has been with the Jefferson lacrosse program for five years, coached his last official in person practice on March 1. “I had an incredible time, and I loved being with the program for all five years. [We have] kids [on the team] with insane work ethic, drive, intensity, and willingness to learn and listen. So overall, it was an absolutely amazing experience,” Hensley said.

He returned to the team for the first time since the car crash due to COVID-19 cancellations. “I have had injuries take me out before but it was never for so long. This experience made me cherish the moments I had on the field that much more,” Cramer said.

As the seniors end their last MEX performance, they all stand, looking up in the air; it’s their last hoorah. The quick clothing changes throughout the performance left the audience both pleased and surprised. The seniors were able to portray such a strong message through their performance, one that will be remembered for years to come.

We want to take the fact that our students are going to be competitive and going to want to be excellent and turn that into something that is fun and not stressful and helps everybody succeed, Malcolm Eckel, Challenge Success Staff Representative, said. [Through] classes that I think are difficult but not stressful, thats the kind of thing that were going for: having enough student options enough student control that everybody can find their own path to success that feels genuine to them.
