On May 7, math teacher Amy Luxenberg announced it was her last day as Ms. Luxenberg. Students glanced at each other in confusion. When Luxenberg returned, she would be Mrs. Marsh.

Marsh and her husband, South Lakes High School physics teacher Ryan Marsh, met online. They dated for around two and a half years before he proposed to her.

“My husband and I both really like to cook, and we both like food, so we had that in common,” the newly married Marsh said. “We have so much fun together.”

They were married at 2941, a restaurant in Falls Church, with 40 guests in attendance. The newlyweds plan to take a longer honeymoon to Italy this summer after the school year ends.

Marsh wasn’t the only teacher to tie the knot this month. AP Government and AP US History teacher Rebecca Glatter was married to Commander Richard Schgallis at the US Naval Academy earlier in May.
