New club shares passion for science in new outreach effort

New club shares passion for science in new outreach effort
Students from Mythvestigations pose as the stars from the TV show Mythbusters.

Sophomore Tara Abrishami had an idea. Inspired by the hit TV show “Mythbusters,”  she decided to form a new club, Mythvestigations. It was created to encourage students of all ages to participate in and learn the rationale behind fascinating science experiments.

The club performs various experiments and videotapes them to send to elementary and middle schools. Previous experiments have included the difference in pain tolerance between genders and how to move a penny balanced on the side of a bucket.

“I think that science is an important part of this school, and I want to be able to share my experience with kids from elementary and middle schools in a fun and interesting way,” said sophomore Stav Nachum.

The members of Mythvestigations hope to send a final compilation of their videotaped experiments to local elementary and middle schools in late May or June.
