The color guard and drum line members held a performance open to all students during the 8th period, B block, on Friday, March 18.

Color guard first presented their opening show, “Born to Fly” with their bird-themed costumes.

“We trained for a few months,” freshman color guard member Jacob Dipasupil said. “Personally, I think everyone on my team did really well.”

Drum line followed with two performances, including both a variety of instruments and choreography.

“It was certainly one of our better performances,” sophomore drum line member Aaron Thapa said. “Sometimes between the front and the back there were some timing issues, but beyond that, it was way above average.”

Given how much they enjoyed the performance as well as their activity, the students both mentioned time management as a major obstacle to being a member of the group, but at the same time both confirmed that they would continue participating in each of their corresponding activities despite the challenge. This not only comes from the fun of color guard or drum line, but also from the aspect of being in a team.

“Everyone in drum line is your friend, so there’s always someone to turn to,” Thapa said.
