With quarantine and virtual learning this year, Jefferson students have created artwork and culinary products during their free time.

“Doing artwork is a creative outlet for me especially during these times,” sophomore Achraf Azzaoui said. “It’s a way for me to take my mind off school.”

With the end of November also bringing the end of National Sleep Comfort Month, TJ Broadcast looked into how TJ students' sleep schedules have been affected by the virtual school year.

"I would say my assignments take a decent amount of time outside of school, and some of them are pretty irregular - they don't start on Saturday or Sunday, they just sprout throughout the week - and that's mostly the reason that I would stay up pretty late," said junior Anna Catalano.

As November draws to a close, TJ Broadcast looked

As November draws to a close, TJ Broadcast looked into two students' participation in NaNoWriMo - National Novel Writing Month - and their ongoing attempt to write at least 50,000 words before the month finally ends.

"I feel like creative writing is very interesting because you can express so many different ideas - and it's a really good way to destress, especially from school and academics, because no one is expecting anything from you or your writing," junior Lily Walters said.

As we celebrate today what we are thankful for, tjTODAY wanted to look into the struggles of being a teacher during online learning, and how teachers have been adapting to these changes - and how students are thankful for all their hard work.

"I'm thankful for my teachers for sticking with this online program - this lack of being able to see their students in person means that they're really not teaching the way they've taught their course for the past couple years, so I appreciate all the effort they've put into these online classes and making that transition," senior Justin Choi said.
