      This week, Jefferson freshman and seniors who sele This week, Jefferson freshman and seniors who selected the hybrid model came back to school in-person for the first time in nearly a year. Students social distanced, wore masks, and took other COVID-19 precautionary measures.

I am very happy to be back in-person,” senior Thomas Cuddy said. “I enjoy seeing my friends, meeting my teachers, and getting a change of scenery. I feel more connected to the TJ community than I have for a very long time. I don’t know exactly what to expect in-person, but that is what makes it special.”

Here is what the first week of the hybrid model looked like.
      Today, March 3rd, to commemorate the beginning of Today, March 3rd, to commemorate the beginning of hybrid learning, TJTV Broadcast took a closer look at the arguments for in-person learning compared to virtual, and what policies FCPS has implemented in school for returning students.

"It's better to give these students, who are struggling to cope in an online environment, the option to come back to school even a month or two earlier than to wait for better vaccine coverage," junior John Kim said.

      Today, March 2nd, in celebration of the upcoming I Today, March 2nd, in celebration of the upcoming International Women's Day, tjTODAY talked with members and clubs of the TJ community who have worked to promote gender equality in STEM fields that typically lack representation.

"It happens so often that women are spoken over when they are passionate about something - especially in STEM - so giving them a community where they won't be spoken over, where they will be recognized, is so important," sophomore Prasidha Padmanabhan said.
