Swim team does annual team Rob the Cradle askings

Many upperclassmen on Jefferson’s swim team were seen coming to school this week with varieties of goodies, balloons and treats for their underclassmen counterparts as part of their askings for the swim team’s Rob the Cradle (RTC).

Some juniors and seniors choose to ask their respective underclassmen in groups, while others did theirs solo. Most brought in gifts such as baked goods and balloons.

“I did it with another guy and we turned around and gave the girls cookies and it went fantastic,” junior Tommy Rogers said. “We’re going to get dinner tonight and it will be of fun.”

As a part of a long running swim tradition, members of the swim team enjoy RTC by going with their dates or as a group to watch a movie, dinner, or simply to the mall to bond with team members from other grade levels.

“We got assigned our dates this year and so I asked this freshman. I was very excited to meet him and we’re planning on going to Reston Town Center to go ice skating so I’m very excited,” junior Grace Liu said.
