Sophomore Raiyan Dar has been writing for tjTODAY for the past two years and has thoroughly enjoyed working with the journalism team at TJ. Her hobbies include sewing, rollerskating, and going thrifting. She’s currently running the TJ Media Instagram account, and her favorite part of journalism is learning about the people at TJ.

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure

Standing next to his poster, freshman Aarya Anaspure proudly waits to answer any questions about his group’s project. Jefferson is one of the only schools that offer a year-long research project in freshman year. “The IBEST project was one of the most unique and collaborative projects I worked on, and it taught me skills that I would use for many years to come. The project was challenging and communication was difficult at times, however, working together with friends strengthened our collaborative skills, and getting to output an actual result with our hard work felt good,” Anaspure said.

Freshman Cera Kamdar excuses her excessive shopping spree using girl math. "For my birthday my aunt and my friend both gave me amazon gift cards so I just added a bunch of stuff to my cart, because since it's a gift card it's basically free," Kamdar said.
