      Today, April 6th, tjTODAY took a closer look at th Today, April 6th, tjTODAY took a closer look at the Jefferson field hockey season, and how the team has learned to grow and adapt despite the many restrictions posed by the pandemic on their typical schedule.

"There's less cheering," freshman Avery Park said, "but I think overall our sense of community has grown and our spirit has grown even more - because together, as a team, we really want to hype each other up."

      The Jefferson Fall Sports season is wrapping up ne The Jefferson Fall Sports season is wrapping up next week. The athletes have played through a variety of difficult weather conditions while also following COVID-19 guidelines. 

“Fall sports has gone through completely different challenges than normal because of the pandemic.” senior Ikhlaas Batt, captain of the Jefferson Cross Country team, said. “Even without the month of practice before competitions that the cross country team has been used to in previous years, we have seen a great deal of impressive performances. The team has not been fazed by complications like the short turnaround from the winter season or participating with masks.”

"By joining the policy committee at EIC, I've really gotten a breadth of information that I wouldn't have found elsewhere," junior Will Hancock said. "We do a ton of research and a ton of outreach, and it's become really interesting knowing exactly how government works and how real change happens."
