Students present projects at annual Mentorship Fair

Senior Shawn Tsutsui presents his project to Superintendent Jack Dale.

Mentorship Fair was held on April 11 with over 80 students and mentors in attendance. Additionally, mentors who advised students working on projects within Jefferson’s science and technology labs were invited to the event.

At the beginning of the fair, certain presentations were held in the auditorium. Seniors Jacob Miller and Karishma Popli were chosen by Sci/Tech Division Manager and Mentorship Director Matthew Pearce, to present to all attendees during this time. Afterwards, seniors set up presentations in Gym 1 where they explained their projects to various mentors and parents. This was followed by a lunch reception and further presentations.

Certain juniors, who will participate in the mentorship program next year, volunteered to be hosts, and assist in set-up and decoration.

“The fair was well attended by some enthusiastic mentors,” Pearce said. “The students did a great job of presenting themselves and impressed the public.”

Also in attendance were FCPS Superintendent Jack Dale and FCPS School Board members, Chairman Jane Strauss and Vice Chairman Ilryong Moon.
