Though from the outside, Pinecrest Plaza is your average shopping center, the moment you walk into IndAroma’s cozy atmosphere, you are transported to another world. While the first thing that may catch your eye is the chic décor and lounge-like setting, the tempting array of desserts will surely be your favorite part of your dining experience.
IndAroma boasts a large menu featuring a variety of Indian appetizers and entrees, with delectable western-style desserts. The savory Indian food is fairly solid cuisine, offering a range of choices such as samosas, palak paneer and chicken tikka masala. But while tasty, the portions are small and costly with any additions such as naan being available for an extra charge. Following suit, the desserts are neither large nor cheap, but they are scrumptious.
Their service, however, leaves a lot to be desired. Things such as the simple decision of something being ‘for here’ or ‘to go’ get mixed up. After you order at the counter, the wait on one of the comfortable couches or just at a table seems excruciating long. That said, most employees are fairly friendly and the overall environment is quite relaxing.
Due to IndAroma’s location, it is a great option for before after-school events. In contrast with the rather monotonous Flippin’ Pizza and Starbucks, IndAroma provides something different for students. That said, it is rather expensive with entrees around $10-12 and desserts around $4. IndAroma does take a slightly bit longer than other casual restaurants, but it is worth the wait if you have the time.
Overall, IndAroma serves decent Indian food and great desserts within walking distance from Jefferson. While it may not be stunning or worth going back to every week, the desserts and convenience make it worth it every once in a while.
