On Feb. 16, Jefferson Boys’ Basketball had their senior night and final regular season game against Stuart High School. Although they suffered a loss, the game was close and exciting throughout.

The evening began with both basketball and dance senior nights. Dance Team celebrated the final game performance of seniors Wendy Guo and Christin Park.

“Dancing at senior night was pretty fun. I’m really glad that we got to give gifts to the seniors to show our appreciation for them,” freshman Selina Cheng said. “We’ll miss them.”

The basketball team said farewell to seniors Nebeyu Daniel, Pavan Krishnan, Keshav Rao, Brad Rosenblum, Suddy Sriram and Peter Tan.

“Senior night really embodied the idea of mixed emotions for me. I was bummed that it was our last home game, but excited that all my friends were out there cheering us on,” Rao said.

Stuart opened with a lead and managed to hold it the entire game. Jefferson kept it close, with a 3–point trail after the first quarter, a 5-point trail at halftime and a final score of 41-59. Stuart managed some impressive 3-pointer shots, but Jefferson defense held its own.

Overall, the entire team is happy with how the season went and is excited for the upcoming year, although they will miss their graduating seniors.

“What made the night special was really just being around all of my teammates, including the managers, one last time at TJ,” Rao said. “They’ve made this season the best three months I’ve had at TJ and I could never thank them enough for that experience.”
